Song of the Day: "The House That Heaven Built" - The Japandroids

Today's song of the day is from the Japandroids' sophomore album "Celebration Rock". They are a Canadian duo that are from Vancouver, Canada and formed in 2006. Their first album "Post-Nothing" was released in 2009, and "Celebration Rock" came out this past June. This is definitely my favorite song off the whole album and one of my favorite songs of 2012. It's such a great garage/punk rock anthem that is super similar to me of the Gaslight Anthem's songs. I can't get enough of this song and this album. Listen to this and enjoy!

Song of the Day: "Roman Ruins" - Line & Circle

Today's song of the day is called "Roman Ruins" by a very new band called Line & Circle. Line & Circle is made up of two guys named Brian who moved to California and started making music. This definitely feels like California to me. It's super summery and very free. Imagine listening to this while driving down an open highway with the windows down. That's what this song is all about. Enjoy it.

Song of the Day: "Blood" - The Middle East

Today's song of the day is "Blood" by the Middle East. They're an Australian band that formed in 2005 and ended in 2011 after only releasing two albums. This song comes from their first album "The Recordings of the Middle East". I think this song is absolutely beautiful. The first half of the song is very sad, but it ends with a sort of anthem filled with a choir and trumpets. I think the lyrics to this song are amazing. My favorite line by far is,

"And you'll find somebody you can blame
And you'll follow the creek that runs out into the sea
And you'll find the peace of the Lord."

I hope you read these lyrics as you listen to this song. I'll add a link for you guys. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this song!

Song of the Day: "This Song is Called Ragged" - Jonathan Boulet

This song today is from an Australian musician, Jonathan Boulet. This is a single off his new album "We Keep The Beat, Found The Sound, See The Need, Start The Heart", which was released in June, 2012. This song is super catchy. Especially that repeating melody on those bells or marimbas he's playing. It's definitely a summer song, so it feels weird with this fall weather. But it's still a dope song that most people don't know. Enjoy!

Song of the Day: "October" - The Helio Sequence

Goodness I haven't done this in a while. It's been way over a year, but I really want to start this blog up again to share all the music I find with others. I have sound so much music since I last posted and my taste has changed tremendously. I wish I could share it all with you in one post, but that's impossible for me. So, I'll probably just add a new song every day to this blog and occasionally an album review. Hopefully you guys enjoy these songs as much as I do and hopefully you'll see my musical progression as each day goes by.

Anyway, this song is "October" by the Helio Sequence. They've been around for a while and are signed under Sub Pop Records. Their album "Keep Your Eyes Ahead" is one of my favorite albums ever and you guys should check it out. This is their first single off their album "Negotiations" which comes out September 11, which is in two days. This song has been on repeat for a while on my iPod so I thought I'd post it. I feel like this song will definitely be near the top of my autumn playlist. Hope you like it.
